The Basic Fat-Burning Soup

Today I made what is known as The Basic Fat-Burning Soup, with my own special tweaks, of course.

Unfortunately, I did not take many pictures of the process. I was already hungry and was focused on getting it ready.

The recipe called for:

1 or 2 cans tomatoes (I used one.)
6 large green onions or leeks (I used half an onion.)
1 large can beef broth (I saw no need for this and left it out.)
1 pkg Lipton Onion Soup Mix (I made my own using 4 tsp beef bouillon granules, 8 tsp minced onions, 1 tsp onion powder and 1 tsp parsley flakes with a few twists of the black peppercorn grinder.)
1 bunch celery
2 cans green beans (I always use french cut.)
2 green peppers (Today I used 1 1/2 so I could use the other half in another recipe.)
2 lbs of carrots (I used approx. 1 lb based on exhaustion in chopping and lack of space in the pot.)
1/2 head of cabbage

All in and ready to simmer.
Chop veggies and place in pot. (I put the onions and peppers in first with the pot on medium heat, then added the tomatoes for the juices, then added the other veggies as I chopped them.) Add seasonings and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Let boil for 10 mins. Reduce to simmer and cook until the veggies are tender.

Lunch!
I had two bowls of this yummy goodness with strawberries and water.
For the Seven-Day diet that goes with the soup, Day One calls for eating the soup and fruit only. The only fruit I currently have is strawberries, so my supper will look about the same as my lunch.
