My Journey of Weight Gained/Lost

"Life is about the journey, not the destination." Because of this, I feel it is time to share my weight loss journey.
While I do have goals for this journey, these destinations are simply new roads I want to travel, roads I traveled before I lost my way.

Today, due to time constraints, I will share only today's leg of the trip. Today I am turning over a new leaf...again. :-) It's still Spring. There are new leaves everywhere! I hope I found the right one this time.

After over a month of eating 1700-2100 calories each day and gaining a few pounds, I start afresh this day with a new plan. I have decided it is okay to prepare different foods for myself and for my family. Today I am making pinto beans and cornbread in the crock pot for my husband's dinner. The three-year-old won't eat that, so I will rustle up something for him later.

I, on the other hand, am starting Day One of a seven-day eating plan called The Basic Fat-Burning Soup. I am modifying it a little, but will use it as a base plan. Day One is soup and fruit, except bananas. As I am waiting for the beans to presoak, I have not made my soup yet, so my first modification is my breakfast. I cooked an egg in a bit of olive oil with fresh ground pepper and a bit of sea salt and ate it with about a cup and a half of fresh strawberries with my coffee.

This was light, incredibly refreshing and, according to Noom, only 188 calories. (I had already snacked on some strawberries while making hubby's breakfast.) I believe in food presentation. Every time I focus on making my plate/table pretty, the meal is so much more satisfying!

I'm off to make my soup. To anyone who reads this, have an awesome morning!
